A "humble offering from the sermon edit room floor"

These are some pearls I heard from a pastor that didn't make it to a sermon..

Gratitude is one of the foremost Christian attitudes..
It fosters the Christ-like graces that should be resident in us all.
It is the mark of a contented person; one who is not grasping for more. One who has learned to be content with his lot.

Ingratitude is a sin. Romans 1:21 says "...although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened."
Being ungrateful is at the root of spiritual rebellion.

Gratitude puts a cork in the bottle of covetousness; envious people have a hard time enjoying life because they are always envisioning those things that they don't have, whereas grateful men and women savour those thing that already exist.
